Why we reconcile first
Solace Ridge Co was founded to give small business owners numbers they could actually act on.
Our people had all worked where the monthly report was the deliverable and reconciliation was the step that got squeezed when the deadline was tight. Nothing was falsified. The statement simply carried an implied accuracy that the underlying records did not support.
An unreconciled report looks identical to a reconciled one. The owner reading it has no way to tell, and makes hiring, pricing and distribution decisions on a figure that will move once somebody does the work.
The incentive is toward speed. Reconciliation is invisible in the output, so it is the first thing compressed and the last thing anybody checks.
So the order is fixed here. Reconcile, then report. Where the reconciliation is not clean, you receive a note explaining precisely what is outstanding instead of a statement implying a precision it does not have.
How we work with you
Fixed monthly fees. Agreed in advance against an agreed scope, so a busy month does not produce a surprise invoice and you are never billed for a phone call.
Your ledger stays in your account. QuickBooks or Xero under your own subscription and ownership, with us added as users, so ending the relationship takes an afternoon.
We do not prepare your tax return. We work alongside your CPA rather than replacing them, which keeps the preparer independent of the person maintaining the records.
We tell you what the books cannot answer. Questions about job profitability or departmental margin frequently require a structure the records do not have, and we will say so rather than producing an unreliable figure.
What every client can expect
