Careers at Solace Ridge Co

A bookkeeping practice in Independence. Fixed fees, sane hours, and nobody asked to issue a report that does not balance.

Life at Solace Ridge Co

Why work with us

Reconcile before reporting

You will never be asked to issue a statement to hit a date. The standard holds when the deadline is tight.

No billable hour targets

Fixed client fees mean no timesheets and no pressure to record time you did not spend.

Predictable hours

The close lands on the same dates each month. Tax season is busy; it is not unmanageable.

Certification funded

Bookkeeping certification, QuickBooks and Xero credentials and CPA study all supported.

What you will do

  • Decline to issue reports where reconciliation is not clean, and document what is outstanding instead
  • Identify where client records cannot support a question being asked and state that explicitly in reporting
  • Maintain restricted fund tracking for nonprofit clients so board reports show genuinely available funds
  • Raise queries with clients as they arise rather than accumulating them at close
  • Run the included monthly client call without recording or billing time for it
  • Coordinate with client CPAs at year end without preparing returns

What we are looking for

  • Three or more years in bookkeeping or financial administration
  • Strong reconciliation discipline and genuine comfort saying a report is not ready
  • QuickBooks Online and ideally Xero
  • Nonprofit fund accounting experience welcome; training provided if not
  • Accurate written communication with non-financial business owners
